FC Nantes have turned things around in 2016, boasting a phenomenal record since the turn of the year; Olympique de Marseille are shooting straight on the road; and Corentin Tolisso is firing Olympique Lyonnais' revival.
FC Nantes
Les Canaris only won one of their last nine Ligue 1 matches in 2015, but Michel Der Zakarian's men have changed things up in the New Year, winning four of their first seven league outings in 2016. Since the beginning of January, FC Nantes (seven wins, three draws) are, along with Paris Saint-Germain, the only side in the league to remain unbeaten in all competitions.
Nantes' run of seven league matches in 2016 has taken them from 13th to sixth place and gives them the second-best record in the league over that time, with 15 points (behind PSG on 19 points).
This upturn in fortunes bears a direct relationship to Les Canaris rediscovered firepower. After ending the first half of the season with an average of 0.7 goals per match (14 goals in 19 matches), Emiliano Sala (two goals, two assists in four matches in 2016) and co. have been whacking in an average of 1.7 goals per match (12 goals in seven matches) since the turn of the year.
