Confidence is at an all-time high in the Borussia Dortmund camp after Thomas Tuchel’s men brushed aside the challenge of Tottenham Hotspur FC to book their place in the quarter finals of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Marco Reus (Dortmund forward): "We'll take whoever we get in tomorrow's draw. We have enough confidence!"
Gonzalo Castro (Dortmund midfielder): "We played really aggressively from the first minute. We didn't want to let Tottenham build momentum with an early goal. We prevented that, and then Auba scored a superb goal from 20 metres. That was pretty much the game sewn up. We saw our lead over the line in the second half. It's going really, really well at the moment for the team. Everyone wants to get forward and score goals. We didn't want to take our foot off the gas before the international break. That’s why we went for it once again."
Neven Subotic (Dortmund defender): "We knew about their qualities and that they had it in them to do something, but we defended well. If my memory serves me correctly, we gave away one goal-scoring chance in the first half. Their goal was a bit of a gift, but we did a good job."
Matthias Ginter (Dortmund defender): "Regardless of what happened in the first leg, we really wanted to win the game. We lay down a marker against Porto and Tottenham, so we're pretty relaxed about the draw."
Thomas Tuchel (Dortmund head coach): "It went how we wanted it to. Huge compliment to the team. You need a certain attitude if you want to win away in England. It takes a special performance and a special mentality. We had both. Over both legs, and especially again today. The will to win again was really noticeable. We deserved it, it's a magnificent feeling."
Erik Durm (Dortmund defender): "We went all out for the win and deserved to win."
