Paris Saint-Germain forward Lucas has long-term ambitions with the club from the French capital, where he would be happy to see out his career… alongside the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi, Neymar…
The special guest on Canal+'s Canal Football Club on Sunday evening, Paris Saint-Germain livewire Lucas - currently in his best form since arriving in France from São Paulo in 2012 - let everyone in on the dreams he is looking to fulfil at Paris Saint-Germain.
High hopes
"My dream is to stay here throughout my career and win a lot of titles. After that I would return to São Paulo to finish my career. That's my objective," declared the 23-year-old who has already packed ten trophies into his cabinet with PSG, but who, like everyone else at the club, has his eyes on Champions League gory. "That's our dream."
While the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the architect of PSG's winning past Chelsea and into the Champions League quarter-finals, is currently up in the air, Lucas has his fingers crossed that the giant Swede - whose contract expires in June - will stay on.
Big boots
"I hope Zlatan will stay, I really want him to," Lucas declared. "Especially right now, as he is in top form. If we lose a player like that, it will be difficult to find another player who can do what Zlatan has done here."
Nonetheless, with rumours of Ibrahimovic's moving to the Premier League persisting, Lucas has some ideas of who might be able to fill those large boots.
Wish list
"(Lionel) Messi, I love. I also really like (Karim) Benzema and (Robert) Lewandowski - there are lots of great players," mused the Brazilian, who evidently also harbours a predilection for a national-team colleague. "Given the friendship I have with Neymar, signing him would be great for me and for the club."
Lucas is also close friends with club-mate and compatriot Marquinhos, and hopes that the brilliant defensive utility will opt to stay in the French capital despite rumours of his moving on to find more game time.
'My brother'
"I hope he stays," said Lucas. "He's my friend, my brother. He has amazing qualities. If he continues like this he will become the best defender in the world."
